TRAINING PROGRAMS
At Uzazi Village, we offer a variety of training opportunities such as perinatal doula training,
a lactation consultant program, and academic internships.
Perinatal Doula Training
This 8-day training course includes 4 certificates and covers areas such as breastfeeding, contraception, birth, and postpartum.
Academic Internships
Our semester-long internship opportunities are community health-focused. Interns assist with support groups, classes, programs, lactation clients, and research projects.
Student Midwife Internship
Uzazi Village is committed to solving health inequities through the restoration of the Black midwife. Our community-based midwives have long been missing from the healthcare landscape.
Uzazi Village supports a midwife candidate via our clinical internship that assists candidates in meeting requirements for the NARM exam. Selected candidates will work alongside our staff midwife to care for our clients in the Ida Mae Clinic.
