Uzazi Village offers a range of scholarships for the various doula trainings that we conduct throughout the year. On this page, you’ll find applications as well as information about each respective scholarship currently offered.

HEALTHY BLUE COMMUNITY DOULA INITIATIVE

Applications are closed.

Healthy Blue is partnering with Uzazi Village to give back to the community by sponsoring the doula education of 10 committed individuals. This scholarship is open to any committed individual with a passion of making a difference within their community. Scholarship recipients will attend our October 2023 doula training or our February 2024 doula training. 

Applicant Requirements: 

Must be able to attend all days of training

CORA FAITH WALKER SCHOLARHIP

Applications are closed.

The Cora Faith Walker Scholarship is to commemorate the legacy of Cora Faith Walker who was dedicated to decreasing infant and Maternal mortality for black families in the State of Missouri.

Scholarship recipients will be trained in Uzazi Village Birth & Postpartum Doula method and Lactation support. In addition to becoming Uzazi Village trained Birth & Postpartum Doulas and Peer Community Lactation Counselors. The Cora Faith Walker Scholarship also includes the coverage of Uzazi Villages Certification Fee.

This scholarship is for Missouri Residents Only. Uzazi Village is located in Kansas City, Mo and will be hosting training in Kansas City, Mo, Columbia Mo, and Springfield Mo. This scholarship program immerses participants in 2 intensive modules: 

  • Prenatal Doula & Postpartum Doula 

  • Lactation

Applicant Requirements: 

– Must be 18 years or older

– Must attend all sessions — no class makeups.
– Must be a Missouri resident.

This training is NOT the same as Uzazi Village’s Perinatal Doula Training which includes 4 total modules for participants. If you’re interested in our original Perinatal Doula Training Program, you can see more details below or contact doulatraining@uzazivillage.org. 

Uzazi Village trained doulas have formed doula collectives to support families in their communities.
